Most Rev.Dr.Fancis Savarimuthu the bishop of Coimbatore had a significant vision to meet the ever-growing demand for a recognised education and aimed to establish an English Medium School in Coimbatore.

  The Mother General of “The Franciscan Sisters of  the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary”,Coimbatore (Presentation Congregation) Very Rev.Mother Lidwin intended with true courage,and with her ability to forge ahead in the face of demands, lined up her sights to initiate the great task of Most Rev.Dr.Francis Savarimithu’s vision in 1970.

  In 1971 on June 18^th the substratum was set by the initiator Mr.B.A.Guru Raj.Under his governance,the classrooms,office rooms and wash rooms,each with an area of 100 square feet were constructed.The supply of water and electricity were provided by Ashokapuram Panchayat.

  Presentation Congregation Sisters committed their heart and soul to illuminate the young minds of children by furnishing a well managed, value based education as salient features.On 4^th June 1972,the school Building was inaugurated by Most.Rev.MGR.C.M. Visuvasam D.D the Bishop of Coimbatore Diocese.The school sustains the title”Bishop Francis”in memory of Most Rev.Dr.Francis Savarimuthu who propelled the designation with perseverance. 

Student’s enrollment reached  100, from Kindergarden to std III.Rev Sr.Josephine was designated as the first Principal along with 3 teachers.

  In 1973 there was a gradual increase in the enrollment of students as 210 with 3 sections in Kinder garden progressed upto 4^th std. Rev Sr.Celine took incharge as the second Principal. Every year there was a drastic improvement under the Leadership of Rev.Sr.Barnabas,Rev Sr.Isabella Rosy,Rev Sr.Mary Ann and some other Rev.Sisters.

  The Year 1996,was an impressive academic year.Rev Sr.Noel Mary was assigned as the Principal.Her unwerving trust in Almighty, with her perfect,confident and progressive hardship elevated our school’s title as Bishop Francis Matriculation School. Co-curricular activities excelled.School Vechiles were organized.The infrastructure was extended as St.Joseph’s Block and St.Judes block with new storey Computer Lab and library.The range was widened up to std X.The first set of 18 students appeared  for std X Matric Board Exam and obtained 92% result in the academic year 2000-2001.The talents of the students were exhibited through Television, radio programs and inter school competition.The students strength increased to 1064 in 2005.

In 2005 Rev.Sr.Antony Pushpam was specified as the Principal.Scouts and guides were launched.Celebration of  National,and common festivals were emphazised. Usage of computer factilities were widened.Well furnished office rooms, and computer lab was extended.

In 2006 Rev.Sr Celine Nirmala was assigned as Principal.School vehicles were added .St Judes Block’s second floor was made larger.Focused fluency in English classes excelled. Student’s strength increased upto 1200 by then.            

  In 2007 Rev Sr.Frank was entrusted with the responsibility as the Principal .With the most generous heart, bound with the mighty attribute of the power above,she proceeded the extention of the second floor of St.Jude’s Block with well furnished Science Laboratories.

  On 9.1.2010 it was sanctified by the Bishop Most.Rev.Thomas Aquinas,M.A.,D.C.L., and inaugurated by Mother General Very.Mother Celine Nirmala. Monthwise Map tests and mental sum tests were practised. Food carnivals were organised as a novel genre to contribute cheerfully for the noble cause in tender minds .Student’s enrollment reached upto 1400 and triumphed with laurels in various Inter School Competitions. Smart class rooms were installed to foster integrated learnings through Educomp.

Rev.Sr.Noel Mary,tool her responsibility as the Principal were rapidly for the Second time in 2012.Resource materials multiplied.District level Rolling Trophy in Sports and games were  captured.Technologically Advanced water purifiers were installed.

   In the academic year2012-13 Rev.Sr. Josephine Hillary was designated  as the Principal.Various club activities were boosted.

Annual cum Sports Day was celebrated with 1050 participants.

Meditation songs and classes marked the spiritual growth of

every individual. Computer courses through Bharathiyar University

were annexed. Herbal garden improved the natural wealth. Kinder garden classes bloomed with soft copies and amusement articles. Computer Lab with three class rooms were renovated.

In the year 2014-15 Rev.Sr.Alwyn Amali was empowered as the Principal.By the mercies of Lord ,according to His excellent greatness,our School  bagged the Momentous Achievements in Std X Board Exam 2014-2015.K.Karthika stood as the state first topper with 499/500 and N.D Harini the 3^rd topper with 497/500.They were appreciated and awarded by Mrs.Archana Patnaik the District Collector of Coimbatore at collectorate. 

To provide the most hygienically clean Sanitary facilities,60 rest rooms were constructed separately for Boys and Girls.It was inaugurated by Rev.Sr Mariette,the Provincial of Ravel Province and blessed by Rev.Fr.Gurusamy on 5^th October 2015.

A Spacious land with a house measuring 7 cents located behind our school was purchased  on 24.06.2016 to give an opportunity to the children who live in the close proximity, to  inculcate good knowledge and standard in education. The Computer Lab was spun out with air conditioners and additional computers.

  Wide range of sporting Opportunities were provided and school bagged the rolling trophy. Bible club,Eco club,and media club were charged. Band troop elevated the title of BFMS by capturing 1^st and 2^nd places in District level competitions.

  J.Jeslin Benita of std X grabbed the first place in State Level English Elocution Competition,P S Niranjana of Std X,the First place and Japneet Kaur of std IX,the Second Place in District Level English Essay writing Competitions respectively, conducted by Art and Literary Association.

A.Merline of Std Seventh stood State First in English Grammar Test conducted by Bharath Institute of English Proficiency.P.Rohith of Std Eighth bagged the Eighth Place in State Level High Jump Meet and was awarded with Form-3 Certificate.

  A web based school management program which can effectively manage the school activities like academics,examinations,communications with parents and transport systems etc. was introduced. Time Attendance and Access Control Device-e NBioAccess, logging with fingerprint recognition was fixed.

  A Compound wall enveloping the Boys restroom was raised. A Mini Auditorium roofed with galvanized sheets was erected on the third floor of St. Joseph’s Block. It was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Gurusamy and sanctified with Rev. Fr. Gladys, The Parish Priest, Kangeyam .
